Our office provides campuswide leadership for the delivery of undergraduate education and the enhancement of educational effectiveness and academic success. We act as liaison on academic issues pertinent to undergraduate education with each of the colleges and other campus entities, including the Academic Senate, as well as to external units and agencies including the UC Office of the President, other universities, and relevant accreditation agencies.
We are dedicated to ensuring that UC Davis undergraduates fully participate in the dynamic intellectual life of our research university. In addition to serving as campus advocates for undergraduates, we offer programs to enhance the learning experiences available at UC Davis. We encourage students to explore our programs and take a first step towards an internship in Washington D.C., a hands-on original research partnership with a renowned scholar, or learning and practicing skills for twenty-first-century leadership.
For faculty and instructors, our Center for Educational Effectiveness offers expert advice on teaching large and small classes; workshops and resources on incorporating technological tools to enhance instructional creativity and collaboration; and offers analytic tools and approaches to inform instruction and maximize student success. Our assessment experts help faculty approach student learning with the rigor of research methodology.
