Bio

Beth Broome is the executive director for teaching and learning and STEM initiatives in Undergraduate Education. In this role, she also leads the Center for Educational Effectiveness, which promotes and supports effective learning for all UC Davis students.

Previously, Broome led the STEM Strategies unit at UC Davis, where she spent the last decade designing and leading cross-campus initiatives to connect students, faculty and programs in meaningful ways. From the launch of the UC Davis STEM Strategies and STEM Portal to the creation of the Avenue model and her leadership role with the Sacramento K-16 Collaborative grant, Broome has a strong track record of turning bold ideas into scalable, high-impact programs.

Prior to joining UC Davis, she led statewide education and workforce efforts in Arizona as manager of STEM Initiatives at the Science Foundation Arizona, where she built the Arizona STEM Network and secured $7.5 million in funding. Her earlier work as an independent consultant included strategic planning, program design and advising nonprofits and local governments, ranging from boosting voter engagement to helping organizations through major transitions. She also helped lead a comprehensive antipoverty initiative early in her career, focused on housing stability and employment.

Broome’s experience spans education, public policy, workforce development and nonprofit leadership, as well as a strong advocate for innovation, collaboration and equity. She consistently strives to bring people together, move ideas forward and support team growth.
