Quarter at Aggie Square celebrates experiential opportunities for students

“I delayed graduation to do Quarter at Aggie Square, hoping it was a worthwhile use of my time and money. And luckily it was!”  Amrit Bains, a UC Davis senior, said about her experience, at the program’s year-end celebration. She also discussed the impact of students working closely with faculty and one another as her favorite highlight of the program.

2024 Advancing Health Care Equity Speaker Series begins Jan. 17

Achieving health equity requires ensuring opportunities for everyone to attain their highest level of health. This requires removing obstacles to health, such as poverty, discrimination and their consequences.

Quarter at Aggie Square offers its annual speaker series that examines medical, legal, sociocultural and historical perspectives on health-care equity from Jan. 17 through March 6.

10 students, 1 quarter, 2 inventions

Not long after Quarter at Aggie Square launched in fall 2020, students quickly found success through the immersive, undergraduate academic experience. Some participants were admitted to prestigious graduate programs and others earned competitive internship opportunities. This year, one team of undergraduates found success by creating not one, but two innovations as a result of their Experience last fall.

Sacramento Artist Performs for Students in Transformative Justice Studies

Leadership from Oak Ridge Elementary and Aggie Square joined the Quarter at Aggie Square’s Transformative Justice Studies students and faculty for a conversation with Sacramentan David Garibaldi about arts, education, and community.

“This past summer, we saw our world creating images that reflected how we felt, saying what we had no words for,” Garibaldi said. “Art has always been a voice for the unsaid.”
