Record number of students expected to present at 2024 undergraduate research conference

35th Annual UC Davis Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference kicks off Friday afternoon

A record number of undergraduate students are slated to present at the 35th Annual Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference April 26 and 27. According to the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Center, which hosts the event, the 2024 conference includes 884 student presenters – more than any previous year.

According to Lolita Adkins, the center’s administrative director of undergraduate research programs, times for the arts and design exhibit and poster sessions were expanded for this year due to the record turnout. Undergraduate students present their research and exhibits at the University Credit Union Center from 1-5 p.m. Friday. Oral sessions and the performing arts are set for 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wellman Hall.

The event showcases the diverse and innovative work of the participating students across multiple disciplines. The event is free and open to all. Adkins said the event is a perfect opportunity for the entire community to learn more about research at UC Davis.

“As UC Davis presenters share their findings, it is a good opportunity for you to learn more about research and to network with peers, faculty and professionals,” she said.

Atkins suggests visitors visit the conference web page to find a complete downloadable PDF of the program and abstract book along with exhibit, poster and oral presentations schedules.

The Undergraduate Research Center, a part of UC Davis Undergraduate Education, works to provide research opportunities for UC Davis undergraduates across majors and class levels. The center promotes research as a high-impact student experience that enhances preparedness for future careers.
