The Quarter at Aggie Square People, Plants and the Planet experience equips undergraduate students of all majors with the skills to support a positive impact on the global ecosystem. The hands-on experience also led one student toward a new career path in public health.

Fourth-year biological sciences major Amelie Chang, who completed the program last fall, said the experiences sparked her interest in community education.

UC Davis puts student researchers in the forefront

Undergraduate students find pathways to research in traditional and avant-garde ways at the University of California, Davis. For many undergraduates, early exposure to research sculpts their career journeys in new direction. Every year, the Undergraduate Research Center introduces and connects students to hands-on research through programs, conferences, workshops, awards and mentor-mentee opportunities.

Second Undergraduate Research Fair kicks off Oct. 10

UC Davis undergraduate students who want to conduct research can meet with more than 37 faculty at the second-ever Undergraduate Research Fair Oct. 10.

The fair, which runs 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 in the ARC Ballroom and Courtyard, provides students information about how to participate in research projects, learn about research programs and explore opportunities to work in labs.

Quarter at Aggie Square celebrates experiential opportunities for students

“I delayed graduation to do Quarter at Aggie Square, hoping it was a worthwhile use of my time and money. And luckily it was!”  Amrit Bains, a UC Davis senior, said about her experience, at the program’s year-end celebration. She also discussed the impact of students working closely with faculty and one another as her favorite highlight of the program.

Record number of students expected to present at 2024 undergraduate research conference

A record number of undergraduate students are slated to present at the 35th Annual Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference April 26 and 27. According to the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Center, which hosts the event, the 2024 conference includes 884 student presenters – more than any previous year.
