Consultations now available
Quick Summary
- UC Davis Writing Center launches website where the UC Davis community can explore the center’s offerings and schedule one-on-one writing consultations.
The UC Davis Writing Center, which launched in fall 2023 as a unit of Undergraduate Education, now offers one-on-one consultations for undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and instructors. With its new website at writingcenter.ucdavis.edu, the UC Davis community can explore the center’s offerings and schedule one-on-one writing consultations.
“The Writing Center is the center of all writing, for all Aggies,” said Joanna Johnson, associate vice provost. “We offer different types of writing services and the Writing Center team is eager to work with everyone.”
The Writing Center is located at the heart of campus, at the top of the new Teaching and Learning Complex. Johnson said the center offers a variety of writing services, depending on needs and consultant availability. Currently, she said the center is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays. Appointments are available online and in person and can be scheduled through the website.
“We are excited to offer a friendly and welcoming environment at this state-of-the-art facility,” Johnson said. “This is our first step toward growing a university-wide center supporting undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, instructors, writing groups and more.”
Writing Center team members include graduate-student consultants who provide support to undergraduates, support staff and student staff, who work at the front desk of the Writing Center.
The new website includes details about current writing support available and outlines plans for future offerings as the center expands. Johnson encourages the UC Davis community to reach out to the center at writingcenter@ucdavis.edu with questions.
